Organizational Membership
By organizations we mean public charities, nonprofits, and operating foundations (501(c)(3) organizations) that aren’t primary, corporate, or community foundations. Nonprofit organizations join and membership benefits are extended to all staff and board members identified by the nonprofit organization. When staff leave, membership stays with the organization.
Organizational Membership Benefits:
- Discount on all AAN hosted professional development workshops, webinars, seminars, or conferences
- Free networking events
- Unlimited access to online tools (Standards for Excellence® sample policies, HR handbook, legal
requirements checklist, job descriptions, Conflict of Interest policy, and more) - Half-day consulting services for $750 and full-day consulting services for $1,500 provided by the AAN Executive Director

Foundation Membership
By foundations we mean private and community foundations (501(c)(3) organizations) that make grants for charitable purposes. This membership provides professional development and resources for you, your staff, and your board. It also supports the work AAN provides to your grantees through training sessions, CEO roundtables, tailored consulting services, Standards for Excellence® resources, networking events, and our Nonprofit Executive Leadership Institute (NELI). Together, we will help nonprofits thrive. Member benefits are extended to all staff and board members identified by the foundation. Membership dues are based on an organization's grants paid per year, see chart below.
Foundation Membership Benefits:
- Complimentary registration to any training sessions or networking events you, your staff, or your board would like to attend. They can learn and we can grow our relationship while hearing your feedback.
- Your logo displayed on our website's home page and in our eNews at least twice per year, showing your commitment to the professional development of Alabama’s nonprofit community
- Unlimited access to online tools (Standards for Excellence® sample policies, HR handbook, legal
requirements checklist, job descriptions, Conflict of Interest policy, and more) - Access to our member directory
- Monthly eNews with informative nonprofit management articles and updates on AAN events

Business Associate Membership
Open to companies that serve the nonprofit sector. Membership dues are determined based on the staff size of the associated business, see dues chart below.

Consultant Membership
Open to nonprofit consultants with a solo practice. Benefits accrue to one individual. For larger consultant groups, please join as a Business Associate.

Consultant Annual Dues: $250
Individual Membership
Open to volunteers, students, board members, advocates, and employees of the nonprofit sector whose organization does not hold a membership. Membership stays with the individual and benefits accrue only to this individual.
